[There's something she can do to help a friend. It's really as simple as that.]
Very well.
Perhaps... Aska, then. [A brief pause, and a thoughtful hum.] The spirit of light has a dual nature. Unlike Sylph, who are three-in-one, Luna and Aska are two distinct beings. I've often thought they are the two 'faces' of light-- it's closely associated with healing, after all, but is also the single most destructive element our world has to offer.
Aska is a peculiarity. He takes the form of a glowing bird with two heads and pinions in all the colors of the rainbow, and he resists spells of every element. And, unlike the other summon spirits, who are bound near to their seals or their summoner, he wanders the world at his leisure. He's drawn, specifically, to the sound a particular tree makes in the wind.
[She laughs a little, then, a quiet sound.] Frankly, by everything I've learned about the summon spirits, Aska still makes very little sense. I almost wonder if, instead of being born from light, he wasn't something else first.
[Definitely set to go on a ramble about summon spirits and her hypotheses regarding their nature.]

[ Just enough engagement in the topic to keep her talking, because he is listening, but not enough to pose a block to her if she got on a roll. ]

[She's not exactly quiet, but there's something a little softer than her usual vibrant enthusiasm in the way she expounds. She shifts occasionally; rests her chin in her hands, at one point leans back to glance off to the side at something. For the most part, though, it's just Raine and her words, shifting from one related idea to the next as easily as the current changes.]
[There are a few natural stopping points, here and there, but she only ever pauses briefly. Won't stop, in fact, until there's some indication from Bakura.]

Thank you. I... know this was a strange thing, to ask.

[Besides, she likes the opportunity to go on at length.]
Bakura...
[What does she even say? Raine isn't even sure what's sparked this, though she can probably guess, if she puts her mind to it. He's... not okay.]
You know where to find me, should you [
need] want to.Lunch out, next time?

Yeah. That sounds okay.

[She isn't going to belabor the point. But she is going to do something nice for him. Even if all she can manage is taking him out to lunch, at least she knows somewhat of his tastes by now, right?]
Then... good night, Bakura.
